For most of his life, 44-year-old Kurt Sliefert had not considered chiropractic care. As the Food Service Director at Logan University, he was aware of the Logan University Health Centers but had no personal experience with its services—until one day he decided to visit. From his very first visit, Kurt was impressed by the professionalism at the Health Centers. He initially started going to establish a baseline, ensuring quicker access to care if any health issues arose. Logan University Celebrates New Fuhr Science Center with Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony

The Logan University community celebrated the dedication of the Fuhr Science Center with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and building tour on September 26, 2024. Arlan W. Fuhr, DC (‘61), founder and chairman of Activator Methods International (AMI) and the building’s namesake, spoke during the ceremony. “My wife and I have continued to invest in this university because it is an excellent place for students to advance their education in chiropractic and health sciences,” he said. “We believe bringing students to campus is the best way to recruit them because once they see it, they realize Logan is the place for them.” …

Chiropractic Care and Opioid Recovery: The Multidisciplinary Pain Management Team at Affinia Healthcare

Noah Hass, a trimester 10 Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) student at Logan University, is working on his preceptorship within the Integrated Health Centers Affinia Healthcare rotation – a community health center serving the safety net population historically impacted by low socioeconomic status, chronic pain and the opioid crisis. Known for his motivation and innovative ideas, Noah was placed with a pain management team, working closely with Kelsey Lewis, DC (’17), a seasoned clinician at Logan University Health Centers. Logan Hosts Eighth Annual A.C.E.S. Workshop

Logan University recently hosted its eighth annual Anatomy Centered Education & Science (A.C.E.S.) Workshop for local high school students and incoming college freshmen. Taught in small groups by physicians and professionals from various medical specialties, the week-long program allows students to learn more about physical anatomy, body systems, health, wellness and prevention, while gaining hands-on experience in dissection, radiology and more. Logan University Announces New President-Elect

Logan University’s Board of Trustees has announced that Garrett Thompson, DC, PhD, will be the eighth president of the University. The announcement of the new president concludes a nationwide search that began in February of 2024 upon the news of the upcoming retirement of Clay McDonald, DC, MBA, JD. Dr. Thompson currently serves as Vice President for Academic Affairs and chief academic officer at Sonoran University of Health Sciences in Tempe, Arizona. Logan University to Provide Chiropractic Care to St. Louis Community College Student-Athletes

Logan University is proud to announce its partnership with St. Louis Community College (STLCC), allowing Logan’s Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) interns to provide chiropractic consulting and care for its student-athletes. “This partnership will provide Logan interns practical learning opportunities while providing STLCC student-athletes with additional treatment and care,” said Logan’s Associate Provost of the College of Chiropractic, Kristina Petrocco-Napuli, DC, MS, DHPE (’23), FICC. “Logan is proud to build this relationship with STLCC.” In addition to chiropractic treatment and care, STLCC’s athletes will receive injury-related diagnostic and treatment services, nutritional counseling and more.
